Ameena Gafoor

Ameena Gafoor is Secretary of the Arts Forum Inc (2002; a cultural platform that claims space for invisible artists in the society), Editor of The Arts Journal (2004- present), and director of the Guyana Book Foundation. Ameena is also Chairman of the Doobay Medical and Research Centre Board of Directors, taking a keen interest in the day-to-day administration of the Centre which assists 100 patients with kidney failure. She is the Founder and Administrator of the Gafoor Foundation which supports organisations like ChildLink;  Step-by-Step Foundation for Autism; The Blind Institute; the Palms; a retirement home for the elderly; and the Dharm Shala, the longest existing humanitarian charity in Guyana. The Gafoor Foundation has also supported students at the University of Guyana, and provides scholarships for secondary school children, and stipends for students in technical colleges.

Reaud Iqbaul Sattaur Gafoor

Reaud Gafoor is a consultant Urologist and lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. He attended UWI, and Fellow-trained at Monash Hospital, Australia.

Omar Feisal Sattaur Gafoor

Omar Gafoor attended King’s College, London, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. He is currently the executive of a hardware and construction business that trades across the Caribbean.

Rafael Arif Sattaur Gafoor.

Rafael Gafoor Attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is currently a consultant Psychiatrist and researcher.

Dr Roger van Zwannenberg

Dr Roger van Zwannenberg was the founder of the Zed Press and then became owner of the Pluto Press and the Pluto Journals. He is currently Chairman of the Pluto Educational Trust.

David Dabydeen

Professor David Dabydeen is a graduate of Cambridge University. He was a postdoctoral Research Fellow at Oxford University before taking up an appointment at the University of Warwick (1984-2019).
